1. General Information

We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how Mindlume AI ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your data when you use the app. It applies to all users worldwide; for users in Germany and the EU, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies in addition.

2. Data We Collect

We may collect the following categories of data:

• Account Data: Email address and login credentials (via Firebase Authentication)
• User Content: Text inputs, chat messages, and screenshots you upload for analysis
• Technical Data: Device information, IP address, browser type, and app usage data collected automatically by Firebase

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

• Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): Processing your account data and user content is necessary to provide the Mindlume AI service.
• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): Technical data is processed to ensure the security and stability of the app.
• Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR): Where applicable, we process data to comply with legal requirements.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Provide and deliver AI-powered analysis results
• Maintain and improve app performance and user experience
• Ensure the security of accounts and prevent misuse
• Fulfil legal obligations where required

5. Data Storage & Retention

• Your account data (email, authentication info) is stored in Firebase Authentication for as long as your account exists.
• User inputs (text, screenshots) are transmitted to the AI service for analysis and are not permanently stored on our servers.
• Inputs are processed temporarily (typically seconds to minutes) solely to generate your analysis result and are then discarded.
• Your conversation history is stored locally on your device via your browser's local storage and in your personal Firestore document, accessible only to you.

6. Third-Party Services & Firebase

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

• Firebase Authentication (Google LLC): Handles account creation and login. Firebase may process your email address and authentication tokens on Google's servers, which may be located in the USA or EU. Google LLC is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
• Cloud Firestore (Google LLC): Stores your conversation history and account preferences. Data is stored in Google's cloud infrastructure.
• Google Gemini API (Google LLC): Processes your text inputs and screenshots to generate analysis results. Inputs are sent to Google's AI infrastructure and are not retained after the response is delivered.
• Stripe Inc.: Handles payment processing for Premium subscriptions. Stripe processes payment data according to its own privacy policy. We do not store payment card details.

All providers process data in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable data protection law. Where data is transferred outside the EU, appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses) apply.

7. Cookies & Tracking

Mindlume AI does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking. Firebase may use technically necessary cookies or local storage tokens solely to maintain your authenticated session. No data is used for advertising or sold to third parties.

• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not share your data with third parties except as described in Section 6 (service providers) or where required by law.

9. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the EU, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Erasure: Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Restriction: Request that we limit how we use your data.
• Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Complaint: Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Germany, this is the relevant state data protection authority (e.g. LDI NRW for North Rhine-Westphalia).

You can delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account in the app. To exercise any other right, contact us at the address below.

10. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Authentication is handled by Firebase, one of the industry's most secure authentication systems. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated within the app. The date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last updated.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Mindlume AI ("Service", "App"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users worldwide. For users in Germany and the EU, additional consumer protection rights under applicable law apply and are not limited by these Terms.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. Each account is personal and may not be shared with or transferred to third parties.

You must provide accurate information when registering. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You may use Mindlume only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

• Upload content you do not have the right to share (e.g. others' private conversations without consent)
• Upload content depicting minors in any inappropriate context
• Use the Service for harassment, defamation, or to harm others
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or circumvent the Service's security
• Use automated tools or bots to access the Service
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose without written permission

5. AI Analysis Disclaimer

Mindlume provides AI-powered analysis of interpersonal communication patterns. This is not professional psychological, medical, or legal advice. The analysis is based on patterns and probabilities — it may be incomplete or inaccurate.

Do not make important life decisions based solely on Mindlume's output. Always consult qualified professionals for serious matters.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

Free Plan

Mindlume offers a limited free tier including 1 analysis or 1 screenshot analysis.

Paid Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are available on the following terms:

• Weekly: €4.99/week — auto-renews weekly
• Quarterly: €34.99 per 3 months — auto-renews quarterly (save ~40%)
• Yearly: €59.99/year — auto-renews annually (save ~75%)

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. After cancellation, Premium access continues until the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for the remaining period unless required by applicable law.

Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You will be charged the applicable rate at the start of each billing period.

8. Intellectual Property

All rights in the Mindlume App, including design, code, brand, and content, belong to the operator or are used under licence. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without written permission.

You retain ownership of content you input. By submitting content for analysis, you grant Mindlume a limited, temporary licence to process it for the purpose of providing the analysis.

9. Data Protection

We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). For full details on what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights, please review our Privacy Policy (accessible from the app footer).

Key points: We do not sell your data. Analysis inputs are not permanently stored. You can delete your account at any time from Settings.

You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without prior notice.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. For consumers in the EU, mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence also apply.

We may update these Terms. Significant changes will be communicated via the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
